Suwon FC striker Lee Seung-woo showed off his goal-scoring prowess as he perfectly filled the void left by longtime striker Lasse.
Lee scored the equalizer one minute into the second half of Suwon FC’s 0-1 home win over Incheon in the 28th round of the Hana One Q K League 2023 at Suwon Sports Complex on May 25. A theatrical goal by Incheon defender Oh Ban-seok just before the end of the second half ended the match with a 2-1 victory for Incheon, but Lee’s performance was just as impressive.먹튀검증
The first goal belonged to the visitors. In first-half stoppage time, Incheon striker Chun Sung-hoon was the first to celebrate, finishing off a ground ball cross from Kim Jun-yup. Chun has scored in all three matches against Suwon FC this season, confirming his nickname as Suwon FC’s nemesis. Of his five goals this season, four have come against Suwon FC.
After going into halftime 0-1, Suwon FC broke the deadlock at the start of the second half with a goal from Lee Seung-woo. The ball was sent in by Lee Kwang-hyuk, who broke down Incheon’s right flank, and Lee rose high to head home. It was the first time the 1.73-meter tall Lee had scored a goal with a header since joining the K League last year.
The victory belonged to Incheon. On a corner kick in the second half of stoppage time, defender Oh Ban-seok, who was part of the attack, headed in a ball from the side to seal the victory.
Despite the last-minute concession, Lee Seung-woo scored his sixth goal of the season, showing off his goal-scoring prowess at its finest. It was his second goal in as many games, following his equalizer against Gangwon FC (2-1), and his third goal in his last four games, making him the spearhead of Suwon’s offense and the go-to guy for the team.
What makes Lee’s performance even more valuable is that he has filled the gap left by Ras, the long striker who has been the mainstay of Suwon’s offense this season. Rath was Suwon FC’s go-to guy with nine goals this season, but he was recently banned from the K League after being caught driving under the influence. The relegation battle has been a difficult one for Suwon FC this season, but with Lee’s resurgence, they seem to be slowly reducing their chances of relegation.
It’s also positive to see that he has remained calm and focused on playing for the team as he has been the center of transfer speculation this summer, attracting the attention of several European clubs. Lee has received transfer offers from Italian Serie A clubs Frosinone and Genoa, as well as clubs in Spain, Turkey, France, and other European countries. The possibility of his long-awaited return to Europe could distract him from his focus, but he is showing his professionalism by prioritizing the team by changing his position to midfield.
“Returning to Europe is a dream that I have never let go of as a soccer player, but I am still a Suwon FC player as there is nothing set in stone regarding my transfer,” Lee said, “It is up to the club and my agent to negotiate the transfer. My head is full of Suwon FC right now,” he said.
