The San Diego Padres’ 2023 season continues to spiral toward tragedy, this time with an injury.

The Padres announced today that they’re placing Cronenwirth on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured right wrist ahead of their upcoming game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Despite the 10-day disabled list, the extent of the injury makes it virtually impossible for him to return for the rest of the season.

Cronenwirth was hit on the right hand by a 92.9 mph sinker from left-hander Andrew Chaffin in the top of the ninth inning of a game against Milwaukee the previous day.

He complained of excruciating pain shortly after being hit and was eventually replaced by Jose Azorka as a pinch-hitter.

The two-time All-Star was batting .229 with a .312 on-base percentage, .378 slugging percentage, 10 home runs and 48 RBIs in 127 games this season. He had his lowest OPS (0.689) since his rookie year.먹튀검증

Infielder Matthew Barten was called up. In 13 games in the big leagues this season, Batten is batting .261 with a .320 OBP, .391 slugging percentage, one home run and three RBIs.
