Samsung’s left-handed starting pitcher Baek Jung-hyun has been removed from the first team roster due to elbow pain.
Samsung announced on Wednesday that it has removed left-handed starter Baek Jung-hyun from its first-team roster.
“Baek Jung-hyun has been removed from the roster due to discomfort in his left elbow,” Samsung head coach Park Jin-man said ahead of the team’s 2023 baseball game against the KT Wiz at Katwiz Park in Suwon, South Korea, adding, “It’s at a level where we need to monitor his condition.”
This is not the first time Baek has experienced elbow pain. In June, he was also sidelined for a while due to elbow pain.
“His condition is slightly worse than the first half of the season,” Park said, adding, “I think he needs to get plenty of rest.”
The bad news continues for Samsung. Foreign pitcher Taylor Widener, who was scheduled to start the game, was replaced by Hong Jung-woo due to worsening physical symptoms.스포츠토토
Recently, ace David Buchanan was also rested after complaining of gallbladder symptoms.
Samsung has been plagued by a series of injuries to its starting pitchers.
