The Samsung Lions got the players they needed to win the first game of their first doubleheader of the season.

In the first game of a doubleheader against the Doosan Bears at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Monday afternoon, Samsung won 5-1 behind an eight-inning, one-run performance from starter Buchanan and a game-winning home run from Oh Jae-il.

After dropping Thursday’s game against Lotte in extra innings, Samsung dropped the first game of a four-game series against Doosan and dropped to ninth place in the standings, so the team turned to ace Buchanan in hopes of snapping the losing streak.

Throwing a whopping 107 pitches into the eighth inning, Buchanan showed his ace quality for the second straight game, allowing just one run on seven hits with four strikeouts.

At the plate, it was Oh Jae-il who shined with a multi-hit performance, including a two-run homer in the top of the second inning.

With just two hits from the third through sixth batters, Samsung snatched its first doubleheader of the season with multi-hit games from the first and second batters and the seventh and eighth batters, snapping a two-game losing streak and giving the team a chance to rebound in the standings.스포츠토토

With Hanwha’s recent four-game winning streak moving them back from Samsung in eighth place, both teams will look to continue their winning streak in the second game of the doubleheader.
