San Diego Padres’ Ha-Sung Kim has produced a hit in three games.

Starting at first base and batting second against the Oakland Athletics at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California, USA, on Sunday (July 17), Kim went 1-for-4 with a walk, a hit, a stolen base, and a run scored.

After being silent for two consecutive games since his last at-bat against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 12, Kim awakened his bat with his first hit in three games. His season batting average dropped slightly to .265, but he fulfilled his role as a leadoff hitter by reaching base multiple times with a single and a walk.안전놀이터

Kim capitalized on the opportunity in the top of the first inning, drawing a walk. After moving to third on Fernando Tatis Jr.’s double, Kim came home on Juan Soto’s sacrifice fly. That led to San Diego’s final run, and Kim was the hero.

After reaching base on a grounder to shortstop in the second inning, Kim came up big again in the top of the fourth inning with runners on second and first. He didn’t score, but back-to-back singles by Tatis Jr. and Soto put runners in scoring position.

Kim’s RBI single gave San Diego the 5-2 win. After scoring a run in the first inning on an RBI single by Xander Bogaerts, the Dodgers cut the lead to 3-1 in the fourth on a passed ball, then added two more runs in the fifth on an infield single by Brett Sullivan and a throwing error.

With the win, San Diego, which won its 71st game of the season, remained in fourth place in the National League West and seventh in the National League wild-card standings, closing the gap to six games on the third-best group in fall baseball.

Meanwhile, Choi Ji-Man made his first appearance of the season and teamed up with Kim Ha-Sung. After recovering from an ankle injury, Choi started in the sixth spot in the batting order, making his first big league appearance in 36 days. In his first at-bat, Choi drew a walk to load the bases, but was unable to get a hit. Choi is now batting .174 on the season.
