Busan KCC’s newest import, Alize Johnson, made a name for himself as a top player in the NBA’s lower division, the G League. In his four seasons in the G-League, Johnson was well known to KBL officials as he consistently performed well. At 6-foot-10 and lanky for a power forward, Johnson was able to record double-doubles in all four seasons he played in the G League.
Ahead of the 2023-2024 season, Johnson signed a contract with the popular KCC team, which has many fans excited. “I have nostalgia for the NBA, but I wanted to play a stable season in a different environment,” Johnson told us from Osaka, Japan. “Jumping back and forth between the G-League and the NBA was far from stable. I had to move every time, and I would play in the G-League, get called up to the NBA, sign a 10-day contract, and then go back to the G-League. I wanted to play a full season consistently, and that’s when I signed with a good team, KCC.”
Johnson has been excelling in KCC’s training camp in Japan. In an exhibition game against San’en Neophoenix on the 13th, he was responsible for 22 of the team’s 24 points in the first quarter. His floaters from all distances left opposing defenses flustered. Floaters are Johnson’s specialty. “Floaters are the most dominant part of my game,” he said. It’s a 68-70% success rate. Even when I’m not scoring much because I’m not making shots or layups, I’m still able to make plays with floaters. I’ve been using floaters since high school. I needed to develop it against bigger players and it’s the best offensive route I have right now.”바카라사이트
Johnson, who joined the team in early September, has been getting to know her teammates in training camp and working on team chemistry. “I heard that Heoong is a basketball family from his father. He said his dad was a great player. I also heard that Heoong is a superstar in the KBL, but he doesn’t have a championship ring yet. I hope we can get one together,” he laughs.
“When I saw the banner hanging in the KCC gym, I thought it was a prestigious team, but it’s been a while since they won a championship. My goal is to help the team win. I’m here to win a championship for KCC,” he said, expressing his strong desire to be a champion.
