Moon Dong-ju, who started the final game with Ryu Jung-il’s fate on the line, worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first inning.

South Korea will play Chinese Taipei in the baseball final of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games on Sunday (Sept. 7) at the Shaoxing Baseball Stadium in Zhejiang, China. Moon has been selected as the starting pitcher.

The second-year pitcher went 8-0 in April this year with a fastball that reached 160 kilometers per hour, the highest by a Korean pitcher in the KBO. He ended the season early in September and had plenty of time to rest and prepare for the Asian Games. He started the second game of the Group B preliminary round against Chinese Taipei on Feb. 2 and pitched relatively well, allowing two runs on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts in four innings, but was unable to get any help from his offense and suffered the loss.

South Korea’s starting lineup was second baseman Kim Hye-sung, center fielder Choi Ji-hoon, right fielder Yoon Dong-hee, third baseman Noh Si-hwan, first baseman Moon Bo-kyung, designated hitter Kang Baek-ho, shortstop Kim Ju-won, catcher Kim Hyung-joon and left fielder Kim Sung-yoon.메이저놀이터

Chinese Taipei’s batting order is shortstop Tseng Chong-hsiao, left fielder Lin Zhiwei, designated hitter Lin Li, right fielder Lin An-kou, first baseman Wu Yi-ting, third baseman Lin Zhihao, second baseman Li Hao-yu, center fielder Shen Hao-wei, and catcher Lin Zha-jung. The starting pitcher was left-hander Lin Yumin.

In the first inning, Moon gave up a double to Zheng Zhongjie over the center field fence. Lin Zhiwei followed with a sacrifice bunt to put runners on first and third. Lin induced Lin Li into an infield grounder and then struck out Lin Anker to end the inning.
